TIRANA, June 9 /ATA/- The Parliamentary Secretary of State under the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Niels Annen visited Tirana from June 6 to 8 on occasion of the Leaders Dialogue, “at the conference “Implementation of the green agenda for economic and social prosperity in the Western Balkans”.
The German Embassy in Tirana said that during his stay, Annen held talks with Prime Minister Edi Rama, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Minister of Environment and Tourism, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Mayor of Tirana.
He also met representatives of German political foundations and Albanian civil society.
The talks focused on the multi-year development cooperation between the two countries, Germany’s regional climate partnership with the countries of the Western Balkans, the Berlin Process and the importance of regional cooperation on the road to the EU.
Secretary of State Annen emphasized that, “Germany supports Albania and the region in the fields of “Climate and Energy” and “Sustainable Economic Development”, the two key areas of reforms on the way to the EU”.
“We will continue our commitment with the aim of bringing the living conditions in Albania closer to those of the EU,” Annen underlined./p.s./
