TIRANA June 2 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama who this time has chosen Tirana for the post-election thankyou tour underlined that the Socialist Party has chosen to follow the path of equal justice for all.
Citing the example of a former secretary general arrested in flagrante delicto, Rama said that the Socialist Party has opened “Pandora’s box.”
“A few hours ago I learned about a situation that is really embarrassing. A former secretary general who was caught in the act of receiving a bribe. How can this happen?! Of course, the silver lining to this news is that a person unfit to hold a public office has been arrested. More cases like these should be arrested, but I can’t wish that as many people as possible do such things. Because it is really something serious,” said Rama.
According to him, “this behavior is tantamount to lacking a sense of patriotism and a sense of duty, as well as to breach of ethics, to the point that stooping so low while holding office is really shocking. Of course, here we have opened this ‘Pandora’s box’ ourselves. We have opened it ourselves, precisely because we have not accepted to take the responsibility of governing this country, keeping our foot on the lid of that box, to continue the old story of I don’t know how many centuries, where the powerful of this country have never been held to account. We did this, and if I could go back 100 times, I would do the same thing 100 times,” said Rama.
Prime Minister Rama further said that the Socialist Party has chosen the path of law and equal justice for all, without protecting anyone and there is no going back on this journey.
“Of course, I personally knew that this path is far from over, this is not the path of one mandate or two mandates, but it is the path of a generation to make sure that this country delivers equal justice for everyone”, Rama said.
