TIRANA, July 12 /ATA/ The number of active enterprises (excluding farmers) recorded an increase of 5.6% at the end of 2022, compared to the previous year, reaching 125,222.
According to the report published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), 15,700 new enterprises were registered in 2022 from 14,946 registered in 2021.
Referring to the data, 86.5% of enterprises are service producers, from 86.6% that were in 2021.
Large enterprises with 50 or more employees account for only 1.6% of the total of enterprises. Their contribution to employment is reckoned at 50.6% in 2022, from 51.1% in 2021.
Meanwhile, INSTAT informs that 5.3% of enterprises are foreign and joint ventures, of which 43.6% of them originate from Italy and 5.2% from Greece.
The data show that 31.2% of enterprises are run by women, from 31.1% at the end of 2021.
