Tourism and Environment Minister: Sweden, valuable partner in implementing EU negotiating chapters on environment

TIRANA, May 4 /ATA/ – The Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro hosted Thursday the visiting Sweden’s Minister for EU Affairs, Jessika Roswall.

Tourism Minister Kumbaro said that Sweden is the most precious partner of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and its extraordinary work on implementation of the Chapter 27 of the EU acquis, the most complicated and costly negotiating chapter to be implemented before the country can join the EU.

“The green agenda would be valuable only if it is translated into concrete actions and addressing it in terms of waste management, reduction of single-use plastics and the new law banning fluorinated greenhouse gases, is a top priority,” Kumbaro said.

Kumbaro announced that with the law producer responsibility law, a special directorate on the circular economy will be established at the Ministry of Tourism and Environment.
