TIRANA, May 3/ATA/ On World Press Freedom Day, President of the Republic Bajram Begaj held a meeting with a group of young journalists.
During the conversation with them, Begaj said that, “The media in a democratic society moulds the public opinion; it has an irreplaceable role in accurately informing society, in its mission to express the truth in an impartial and transparent manner”.
He emphasized that no media or its employees should feel blackmail or being under threat due to the performance of this mission.
“The fruitful conversation on the media reality, press freedom, censorship and self-censorship, the missing union organizations of media workers give hope that with free and professional journalists we will have a better quality media”, said the president./r.e/p.s./
