TIRANA, April 30 /ATA/ – The Lawmaker of the Democratic Party in opposition Jorida Tabaku reacted today regarding the constructions in the capital Tirana and the banking system.
In a post on social networks, Tabaku emphasized the constructions in the capital, which according to her have taken the breath away from Tirana, are causing a fictitious increase in prices.
“A few years ago, in an official communication with the Bank of Albania to confirm whether the volume of loans in the banking sector justified the volume of construction, the official answer was that the construction sector was financed by “alternative sources”. Today, when 1.8 million m2 are being built in Tirana construction and the city is being transformed by covering and disappearing every symbol of the city, construction is turning into a danger for the banking sector as well. The credit risk that the banking sector is exposed to is the highest in the region! 37 percent of banking sector loans are for construction, not including alternative sources, money that does not come from the banking sector, making construction not only a pyramid system, but making it the real risk of this sector!” wrote Tabaku.
In the following, Tabaku emphasized the impossibility of young people to have a house, where according to her, a normal couple needs 99 years to buy an apartment in Tirana.
“A normal couple needs 99 years to buy an apartment in Tirana. Year after year there is an increase in prices. The Albanian economy cannot and should not depend on constructions, which are not a long-term growth model; we simply show and emphasize the inequality that is happening in every sector”, wrote Tabaku. /p.s./
