Rama: Salary increase is indispensable so that businesses don’t go bankrupt

TIRANA, April 15/ATA/- Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting today in Kavaja with representatives of big business calling on them to increase the minimum wage.

In his speech, Rama emphasized that the whole of Europe is in a dramatic situation for the workforce and every year the market is looking for new workforces.

The head of the government emphasized that we must face this problem and for this reason, he added, we must join forces to move in two directions.

“The necessary increase in wages, but in parallel with this, in terms of explaining with as much realism, honesty and sincerity as possible that Germany really has higher wages than here, but it is not as big a difference as it seems when you look at its taxes, other costs for renting transport”, said Rama.

According to him, Albania is no longer what it was a few years ago.

“Albania has entered a new page economically as well. The fact that we are able to make salary increases unimaginable a few years ago by bringing the average salary to 900 euros in one year, in two steps from the 530 euros, this comes as a result of increasing the opportunity for the economy to create more jobs and income”, underlined head of the government.

He emphasized that the private sector should also follow this line in order not to go bankrupt.

The head of the government emphasized that the employee’s pension cannot be withheld by not paying the social and health insurance. And the businesses cannot continue to pay their employees a salary half in the bank and half in hand. /p.s./
