Rama: All-time high pay raise, private sector will react

TIRANA, March  29 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a meeting with employees of a construction company in Tirana, said that the government is making a major reform of the salary structure, increasing them to an all time high.

“It’s a far-reaching reform, which we can do today, we couldn’t do it yesterday, because to increase salary the company has to do the calculations as those salaries will be guaranteed over the years,” he said.

According to the prime minister, “the wage increase in the public sector is definitely reflected in the private sector resulting in a competition mechanism,  but also a balance mechanism that has to do with people’s motivation.”

Rama said that increasing the salaries of the public administration and making them competitive is also reflected in the private sector, which will be compelled to offset this blow from the “state” rival.

“I am very much convinced that despite all the setbacks and all the headwinds, from the earthquake, to the pandemic, to the war in Ukraine that has affected the whole world and Europe with inflation,  skyrocketing energy prices, we are able to look to the near future with optimism.

I am convinced that the private sector will also react and construction will be an important ally of ours,” he added.
