TIRANA, Oct 19 /ATA/ Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj today addressed the damage caused in Tirana by the violent protests of recent days, stressing that the consequences will affect all citizens.
In a social media post, Ibrahimaj shared images of destroyed bus stops, damaged businesses, burned buildings and attacked institutions.
“This is our Tirana after days of violence: destroyed bus stops, damaged businesses, burned buildings and attacked institutions. The violence has not spared even the post office where pensioners collect their pensions, and it has also targeted banks where we receive our salaries and make bill payments,” the minister said.
Ibrahimaj stressed that the damage has also affected businesses and investments owned by citizens who employ people and provide income for their families.
“The investments of hardworking people who support their families and provide jobs for others have been hit today,” she said.
The minister stressed that the consequences of violence extend beyond material damage, also affecting citizens’ safety and daily lives.
“Violence has spared nothing and no one. We will all bear the consequences of what has happened in Tirana today. We deserve a different future, not the chaos and insecurity we are experiencing,” Ibrahimaj concluded.
