Double capacity of operating theaters at “Koço Gliozheni” maternity hospital

TIRANA, January 7 /ATA/ The healthcare for mothers and newborns has improved thanks to double increase of the capacities of operating theaters and investing in the “Koço Gliozheni” maternity hospital in Tirana.

Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu shared today on social networks a video with the opinions of the medical staff about this investment.

Director of the “Koço Gliozheni” maternity hospital Genc Hyska said that the first phase of the renovation of the block’s premises in the entire obstetrics service as well as the operating rooms has already been completed.

“It is worth mentioning that in addition to the renovation and new equipment, we have increased capacity in the functional areas of these two services. We have an increase of almost 50% of the surface area, the number of operating rooms, as well as a higher level of standards”, he said.

Even the doctors of this maternity hospital say that the investment has exceeded expectations.

“The conditions are much better than we thought. 6 modern halls have been built with all the most modern equipment of the time”, said one of them.

Another doctor considered it a colossal investment, the intervention in the operating rooms where there have been improved two very important parameters related to capacities and quality.

“When we talk about quality, we talk about infrastructure, technology, which not only facilitates our work, but already creates opportunities for us to make more difficult interventions”, he said.

For the nurses of this maternity hospital, the increase in the number of rooms has had a positive effect on the work capacity of the maternity hospital. “Emergencies are handled better and have a very positive effect on increasing the quality of work and responding to the patient,” said one of them. /m.m/j.p/p.s./
