TIRANA, December 3/ATA/ Minister of the Interior Bledi Çuçi held a meeting today with Head of the State Police Muhamet Rrumbullaku regarding the security measures for the smooth progress of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, which will take place in Tirana on December 6.
Speaking to reporters, Çuçi said that the summit is the biggest diplomatic event that takes place in Tirana.
“I guarantee you that everything will go well. We are fully prepared just like a European country”, said Çuçi.
Regarding the protest announced by opposition political groups, the interior minister said that it will be allowed beyond the security perimeter where the summit will take place.
“We have never been against protests; we have always guaranteed the constitutional right to protest. This time, there is simply a red zone where the summit will take place and you cannot protest. Outside this area, we will take all measures so that the protest can also take place”, said the minister of the interior. /k.s/p.s./
