Kovacevski:  Cooperation to overcome current crises

TIRANA, Nov  14 /ATA/- Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski stated on Monday that “the relations between Albania and North Macedonia have never been as good as today. We are an example of how two neighbors can cooperate and successfully overcome the current crises triggered by the global situation”.

In his remarks at the joint meeting in Skopje between the governments of Albania and North Macedonia, Kovacevski emphasized that “on July 19, both of us, on behalf of the citizens of our country, had the honor of starting the European Union accession negotiations. The respected colleagues from Albania showed genuine friendship, unquestioned support on our European path and during NATO membership”.

“North Macedonia and Albania are the true example of how good neighborly relations are built. We have also set milestones for the highways that physically connect our countries and peoples. The two governments are on the path towards empowerment and full confidence in European values. Today, Albania and North Macedonia are mobbing together on the European road. The Republic of North Macedonia has clearly aligned with the foreign policy of the European Union on the war in Ukraine, so did Albania. We stand together for peace in the world and for maintaining the stability of the region, which is in the common interest, to hamper the efforts of third parties that intend to make the Balkans part of scenarios that threaten the democratic values we worked for”, underlined Kovacevski.

According to him, the Euro-Atlantic integration is of paramount importance for the economy and the standard of living.

“The EU finally realized that it is in its strategic interest to make the Balkans part of Europe”, said Kovacevski.
