Rama: Determined to keep energy price intact

TIRANA, October 3/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that keeping the price of electricity unchanged influenced inflation in the country to be among the lowest in the region.

“We are very determined to keep the price of energy intact for family subscribers and small businesses”, said Rama.

The prime minister said that the government will continue to subsidize the price of energy for family subscribers and small businesses.

According to him, the postponement of the application of the 800 kW band came after the need for energy became less than forecast, due to the start of a saving approach and the rains that fell.

The prime minister called for energy savings to make it possible to lift the threshold band after December.

“Other countries are raising electricity bills. Kosovo is facing energy restrictions, too”, said Rama.

The prime minister emphasized that ours is a brave, but also dangerous path.

Rama also spoke about the immediate increase of all salaries that has entered into force and will very soon be a reality for many families, starting from pensioners and all others.

“This will also be a significant relief and so together and in the same way as we managed with other crises we will also manage this crisis even though this is in some way an extremely strong challenge and requires an even greater patience and determination,” he said./j.p/r.e/p.s./
