Veliaj inspects works in Farka Lake Park

TIRANA, Aug 18 /ATA/ Farka Lake Park, the second largest park in Tirana after the Artificial Lake, which has become a new attraction for tourism in the capital, will be revitalized as part of a new transformation project by the municipality of Tirana.

In addition to greenery and recreational spaces, the project entails the construction of a running track and cycling lane that will run along the lake, making the park accessible to sports activities.

The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inspected on Thursday the works in Farka, underlining the fact that this public green space with the new grounds and those under construction will serve everyone.

“All of Farka has turned into a construction site these days. I know construction sites have worked in relays, but I’m glad we kept our promise to the volleyball team. We have a sports hall in Farka, probably the best in Tirana. I am glad that at the capillary level we have reached every road,” Veliaj said.

According to him, Farka is a place of great contrasts, which includes the rural part and that part of Tirana that lives in the surroundings of Farka, Mullet, Petrela and Lundra.

“The role of the Municipality is to make an investment and build an infrastructure that makes everyone feel equal. It doesn’t matter if someone comes from the village or from the city, if someone is rich or on state benefit, when it comes to public space everyone should feel equal, just like we actually did with Lake Park,” Veliaj said.

The mayor of Tirana pointed out that no one could have imagined just a few years ago that an event like the “Sunny Hill Festival” would take place in the Lake Park of Tirana.
