TIRANA, July 27/ATA/ Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla reacted today in a press conference regarding the letter from the Authority for Information on Former State Security Documents (AIDSSH) saying that the politician with the initials I.M appears with a file in the activity of the former State Security.
Nikolla stated that, “AIDSSH has sent a letter addressed to me informing of the identity of this high-profile politician and requesting immediate intervention from the Assembly to address a legal obstacle that does not allow the Authority to take the necessary actions for the case”.
“The case is shocking and the Assembly must definitely react. That’s why I called today the chairmen of the parliamentary groups, the chairmen of the Security and Laws Committee and I informed them about the letter from the Authority, the identity of the politician with the initials I.M. as well as my willingness to convene the Assembly at every time that the political forces will require”, said Nikola.
“I want to thank the AIDSSH for the fair, independent and professional response as well as for the courage in addressing this case, which raises important questions for our society and for the political forces. In respect of the law and the high sensitivity of this truly shocking case, I cannot reveal more at this stage”, stressed Nikolla. /j.p/p.s./
