TIRANA, July 22/ATA/ The Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) extended the security measure “House arrest” for a woman judge in the Judicial District Court, Elbasan, a defence lawyer and three other persons involved in corruption.
SPAK conducted investigations for the criminal offense of corruption by judges and other justice officials.
SPAK said that this is related to a case of active/passive corruption in the justice system (in the city of Elbasan), where interested persons/family members of an arrested citizen in cooperation with the defense lawyer offered the judge of the case an amount of money with the purpose of favouring and easing the punishment.
After examination of all evidence collected in the framework of this criminal proceeding by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, there was extended to the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime the request for the security measure “House arrest” on the suspected persons./k.s/p.s./
