TIRANA, July 9/ATA/ The second segment of the “Southern Coastal Path” starts from the beach of Livadh in the hilly village of Pilur, where the present and the past meet.
The Vlora Region Council has shared on social networks images from the second segment of this path, enabled by the program for Sustainable Rural Development SRD from GIZ Albania.
“Short pieces of the path paved with cobblestones show that this road was very important for local residents.
The journey on this segment will take you to hundred-year-old olive trees, hills covered with the shepherds tea, sage, oregano, water springs, irrigation canals and mountain paths,” according the Vlora District Council.
From time to time the path is briefly crisscrossed by paved sections or modern concrete structures, to make way again to churches lying in ruins, centuries-old walls and houses with red-tiled roofs.
The Vlora District Council advises climbing enthusiasts that when they climb, they should always remember to stop to enjoy the view of the coast and the blue of the Ionian Sea.
