Open Air Theater for children

TIRANA, May 26 /ATA/- One of the Artificial Lake Park venues, known as the old Conversations, designed by architect Maks Velo, has been transformed into an Open Air Theater for children. The summer theater named “Pinocchio” is a gift from the Municipality of Parma and the “Collodi” Foundation, in honor of the great Italian writer, who created the famous and beloved character for children, Pinocchio.

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj and his counterpart from Parma, Federico Pizzarotti, together with a group of children, inaugurated the newest theater in the city, where the installation of “Pinocchio,” an artwork by famous Albanian artist, Klement Zoraqi, has been put in display. The fact that all those people who came from Rome and Rotterdam were amazed by how clean Tirana was, how polite and hospitable the people were and above all how well the city coped with the large flow of visitors shows that the best is yet to come for us, ” Veliaj said.

The Parma Mayor, Federico Pizzarotti, underlined that the inauguration of the Collodi Theater (Pinocchio) will be one of the twinning sites between the two cities. The students of one of Tirana’s 9-year schools took to the stage of the new theatre to perform the adventures of Pinocchio.
