TIRANA, May 22 /ATA/ The World Cup trophy tournament, organized by FIFA and Coca-Cola, has arrived in Albania on Sunday morning and will be exhibited at the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD), until 21:00 hrs in the evening.
In attendance of this event was also the Prime Minister who thanked representatives of Coca-Cola and FIFA for organizing this tournament.
“These days are unforgettable for the Albanian customs because for the first time they had to follow the customs clearance procedure of a cup and not of one but two cups at the same time, of the world cup and that of the confederation, which will be awarded at our stadium, on Wednesday. Anyway, these are some of the troubles we wish we could have in abundance in the future. Even though the cup will stay in Tirana only 5 hours, I wish and hope that as many football fans as possible will visit the cup exhibition,” said Rama
“I hope that all friends will have a great time in Tirana. For the time we are taking care of the cups of others, but maybe the time will come for us to win it too, ” Prime Minister said.
In his remarks, Rama also thanked the former captain of the Albanian National Team, Lorik Cana.
“I see that among others here is the permanent captain of our national team, Lorik Cana. By the way, I do not know who the captain is today and I put it down to Lorik because Lorik was one of those captains that left a mark, and all those taking over this role after him will look like temporary captains, just like the world cup which is of Brazil and from time to time is in other hands.”
Former football player Gilberto Silva, in his remarks, thanked Prime Minister Rama for the hospitality, adding that “we have enjoyed every minute here in Albania, where we have brought the original World Cup Trophy, which means a lot.”
“It does not matter if I saw it yesterday and I see the trophy in the future, but this moment for me is very special since I shared this moment with Prime Minister Rama, the representative of Coca Cola and others, because for me this is about the dream, the inspiration,” he said.
“The trophy is actually something unique that inspires the younger generation to become better in football and in life, because football has the power to bring people together for the good,” said Silva, adding that “this Trophy gives the opportunity to dream and work hard.”
This special stop coincides with the fact that Albania will play host to the UEFA Conference League final Rome vs Feyenoord on May 25, which marks the first European final in the history of the Albanian nation.
