TIRANA, May 9 /ATA/ Prices of essentials have increased during April this year.
INSTAT announced that inflation, which measures the change in the prices of certain essentials, reached 6.2% in April, while the monthly change in the consumer price index in April 2022, compared to March 2022 is 0,7%.
According to INSTAT, the annual price increase in April was mainly driven by the group “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” by 3.56 percentage points, followed by the group “Transport” by 1.23 percentage points. Prices of the group “Rent, water, fuel and energy” increased by 0.49 percentage points. Prices of the groups “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” and “Hotels, cafes and restaurants” by +0.21 percentage points each.
Prices of the group “Furniture, home appliances and home maintenance” contributed 0.20 percentage points more. While the prices of the group “Entertainment and culture” increased by 0.12 percentage points and the prices of the groups “Clothing and footwear” and “Various goods and services” have contributed +0.05 percentage points each.
