TIRANA, April 20 /ATA/- Local government units will have more financial resources at their disposal to cope with Civil Emergencies in their territory.
Pursuant to Law 45/2019, “On Civil Protection”, and the 2022 budget, the Ministry of Defense has allocated to municipalities a total fund of $ 10 million.
This fund has been distributed to 61 municipalities of the Republic of Albania, based on the specific budget allocation of each municipality from the overall budget earmarked for local governments. This fund assists municipalities in fulfilling their obligations in the context of disaster impact mitigation and civil protection.
On top of this fund allocated to municipalities from the state budget, according to law 45/2019 local government units can plan additional funds from their local revenues, from funds that come directly from the tax distribution and national taxes, local borrowing, donations, etc.
