Incinerators, Tabaku: SPAK should merge 3 cases into one

TIRANA, April 15 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ The Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, has reacted on Friday regarding the investigation into incinerators, asking SPAK to merge all 3 cases in a single one.

“The whole alibi of the socialist majority for the 3 incinerators worth 430 million euros revolved around a decision declaring an environmental emergency in Albania. A decision that the Prime Minister waved in the Commission of Inquiry and which was later made public in a BIRN article, hinting that this decision was null and void. For this decision taken in February 2014, I filed an official request as an MP to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. But to my surprise, in its response the Ministry states that such a decision does not exist in the protocol of the ministry. This means that 430 million euros from the taxes of Albanians have been awarded with a decision that does not even exist in the protocol of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, ie a decision that is null and void. The ministry’s response means that 430 million euros have been awarded for the 3 incinerators in favor of Gugallja, Zoto and Mërtir, behind whom are politicians, ministers and government officials today. Therefore, it is vital for SPAK to merge all 3 issues into 1, to launch an in-depth asset investigation for each individual involved in the theft of the century, ” she emphasizes.

Tabaku appeals for justice be served, because Albania has prioritized the fight against corruption.
