TIRANA, April 9 /ATA/ – Albania’s ruling Socialist Party will hold its Congress on Saturday, an event set to differ from the ones in the recent years in terms of its format, allowing more room for the interest groups.
The first part of the Congress started at 09:30 am today with the proceedings of five panels, namely youth policies, innovation, children, the region, Europe, security, agriculture and food safety, energy, mobility, environment, health and social protection.

Prime Minister Edi Rama earlier today posted a picture from the Socialist Party headquarters, with the long-time Socialist leader and former Prime Minister Fatos Nano on its background.
The Congress’ second part is set to begin by midday with the proposals to amend the party statute and the new digital platform expected to be an important part of these proceedings.
The Congress is expected to end the term of the heads of the party’s local branches, while elections to elect new local Socialist leaders will be held at the beginning of May.
