Protest against price hike enters fifth day

TIRANA, March 13 /ATA/ / The surge in the price of fuel and essential items triggered by the war in Ukraine, has prompted the civil reaction through protests in Tirana and some other cities of the country.

The protest organized by civil society organizations has entered its fifth day on Sunday, while citizens have gathered again on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard in front of the government building to oppose the price hike.

In the capital, protesters first gathered in “Skanderbeg” square to continue the march towards the Prime Minister’s seat.

Waving banners, they called for measures to reduce food and fuel prices.

Civil society representatives said that the 7-point package unveiled by the government is another lie.
