TIRANA, March 7 /ATA/ – The Minister of Defence Niko Peleshi called on opposition on Monday to join and contribute to a review of the defence and national security strategy.
In his remarks as Albanian parliament adopted a resolution on support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Defence Minister Peleshi said that “the country certainly faces national security and defence challenges following the recent situation.”
“Of course we face our national security and defence challenges in the wake of the most recent situation and I support the review of our national security strategic documents and I will provide details about our ongoing efforts,” Peleshi said, inviting the Democratic Party and opposition to support and contribute to the process.
“We recognize your merit, we recognize the merit of Democratic Party and all other opposition parties. We are all united when it comes to Albania’s Western orientation and no political party or non-governmental organizations oppose this orientation,” Defence Minister said.
