Kosovo – Serbia, agreement on energy, missing persons

PRISHTINA, March 6 /ATA/ – Kosovo and Serbia are expected to reach an agreement on finding the missing persons, as well as on energy in Kosovo’s north.

Progress was made on this topic that was discussed at the last month’s meeting as part of the EU-mediated dialogue between the two countries.

The European Union expects that an agreement is reached very soon and talks on full normalization of the relations between the two countries continue. The announcement on a potential deal on energy in north of Kosovo was made by Kosovo’s chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi.

EU spokesperson Peter Stano told KosovaPress news agency that chief negotiators in the Prishtina-Belgrade dialogue also discussed preparations for the next high-level meeting between the two sides.

“The EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues, Miroslav Lajčák, held meetings with the chief negotiators from Kosovo and Serbia to discuss a series of concrete issues and implementation of the previously signed agreements, as well as the next steps towards normalization of the relations, in order to prepare the ground for the next high-level meeting as part of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. The two parties agreed on several issues of vital importance for both Kosovo and Serbia citizens, including power supply to residents in Kosovo north and finding the missing persons,” according to KosovaPress.
