TIRANA, Feb 3 /ATA/ The Bank of Albania Supervisory Council approved in the last meeting the decision “On suspending the dividend distribution by banks.”
The Bank of Albania announced that, based on this decision, the distribution by banks of the 2021 profit and the profit that will be realized during 2022 will be suspended until the end of 2022.
This measure of the supervisory authority is intended to provide support to banks, mainly by increasing their ability to absorb potential losses and to support lending to individual customers and businesses during this period.
Also, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania approved the regulation “On the public register of payment service providers.”
The purpose of this regulation is to determine the entities and data that will be contained in the public register of payment service providers and their agents.
This regulatory act is issued in accordance with the new provisions of the law “On payment services”, which provide for the obligation to determine by sub-legal act the form and content of the public register of payment service providers.
