TIRANA, Jan 28 /ATA/ President of the Republic Ilir Meta stated on Friday that, “the time of match fixing will come to an end.”
In a press conference, Meta stressed that, “I see a fervent desire to include me in a race, or to present me as involved in the previous races.”
“I do not even have the opportunity either to vote in these elections as a citizen because I belong to the municipality of Tirana. The time of having fun at the expense of finances with debts taken on behalf of the Republic of Albania to buy your professionalism through the pressures on the owners will come to an end. The language used to take over the only island that is beyond reach, is the everyday language used against media owners, honest businessmen who are held back in order for a bunch of people to control the market. Therefore many serious businessmen are leaving Albania. “
“I have not taken part in a race during my term as President. I have been in the race to safeguard the Constitution, the sovereignty, the borders of Albania, even those of Kosovo which we are duty bound to protect,” said Meta.
