TIRANA, Dec 20 /ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated on Monday that the 2022 budget and the medium term budget ’22 -’24 guarantee acceleration of economic recovery.
In response to the arguments behind President Meta’s return of the draft law “On the 2022 budget”, Ibrahimaj said that, “the 2022 budget and the medium term one ’22 -’24 guarantee the acceleration of economic recovery through ongoing structural reforms to guarantee sustainable economic growth, followed by employment growth, with the main aim of increasing the welfare of every Albanian family ”.
Also, Ibrahimaj added, this budget guarantees “the support of long-term investments that guarantee stability in the long run and support for the most needy groups, promotion of digitalisation as the only way to increase the efficiency of the administration, to reduce its costs, as well as to serve the citizens faster and better.”
“During November, the document we had worked on so carefully was widely consulted in parliamentary committees, addressing all questions and concerns of the opposition. Just less than 3 weeks ago on November 25, this Parliament approved the budget within all legal deadlines, taking into account and addressing any requests of parliamentary committees. “Although the comments were often inaccurate, although some representatives of the opposition analyzed the budget on a political note for personal interests, trying to tarnish the image of the reforms launched by this government with the sole purpose of misinforming the citizens,” she said.
Ibrahimaj stressed that, “the budget is the translation into figures of political objectives, it is drafted by the government chosen and mandated by you. You have chosen us and we will serve you with the greatest humbleness and with the aim of increasing the well-being of every Albanian. The budget is the most important draft of public finances, which serves the economy and the citizens. Political use of the budget is detrimental to the economy and the common interest. “The Albanian government and the majority, despite the obstacles of the opposition, are determined to move ahead with its cycle of reforms and to budget them in order to be as effective as possible.”
