TIRANA, Dec 8 /ATA/ The house museum of painter Vangjush Mio in Korça will open its doors to the public after completion of restoration work.
The news was shared on Wednesday by Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, who said that this is another attraction for tourists visiting Korça.
“After the completion of roof restoration, the house-museum of the painter Vangjush Mio in Korça will open its doors to visitors, who flock to the city of serenades every day”, said Margariti.
Due to the ethnographic values it carries and the fact that one of the most prominent Albanian painters was born there, it has been declared a house-museum.
The house-museum of the People’s Painter, Vangjush Mio, is one of Korça’s main attractions.
During his 40-year career, Vangjush Mio made over 400 drawings and 130 paintings.
About 60 of his artworks are part of Tirana National Art Gallery collection. The other works, under the care of daughter Rozeta, are displayed in his house-museum./m.m//a.a/sm/
