TIRANA, Dec 8 /ATA/ The United States of America is still with the students of Albania in their demand to be “like the rest of Europe.”
This is what the US ambassador, Yuri Kim, said while wishing December 8, the Youth Day.
“We are proud to be your NATO Ally and support Albania in the EU. We want Albania to be more just, stronger, richer. Let’s keep working together to move Albania forward not backward, choose future over past,” Kim said
“We honor the courageous students who 31 years ago protested fearlessly against one of the most cruel regimes of Europe, demanding an end to communism and a new era of freedom, pluralism, a market economy, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech to begin.
They demanded an Albania “like the rest of Europe.” We are proud to have stood by the people of Albania then and will stand by them as they embrace the future.
