Construction of Olympic-sized running track to complete by year-end

TIRANA, Dec 5 /ATA/ – An Olympic-sized running track will be available to the young athletes at Tirana’s Grand Lake Park as its construction is slated to complete by end of the year, Prime Minister Edi Rama said Sunday, posting images depicting ongoing construction work.

“Good news. Young athletes will now have their dedicated Olympic racetrack right at heart of the Grand Lake Park in Tirana due to complete by end of this year.

The outdoor Olympic running track is being built by the Municipality of Tirana through a fund of 58 million lek.

“We have taken care to preserve the environment, the trees, and build a beautiful oasis for athletics fans. We are currently installing the pipeline system collecting the water from both slopes,” said the project manager of the company constructing the 175-meter long and 93-meter wide racetrack.
