TIRANA, November 18/ATA/ During presentation of the Health budget for 2022 in front of doctors and nurses, Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu said that thanks to new employments, from 1.1 doctors per 1000 inhabitants in 2013, today this figure has been almost doubled.
“It is a fact that in 2013 we found 1.1 doctors per 1000 inhabitants. Today, the fact is that we have increased to 1.9 the number of doctors per 1000 inhabitants. It’s not the best, but it ‘s almost double. There are 1200 general practitioners and specialists employed in the last 4 years and 3800 nurses have been employed through the portal “Nurses for Albania”, said Manastirliu.
Manastirliu underlined that the support of doctors and nurses will continue with another salary increase of 6%.
“For doctors and nurses, the 2022 budget guarantees: Salary increase for over 18 thousand health personnel in the system”, said Manastirliu.
The minister of health said that with the application of the new model of hospital autonomy and the new legal framework, the evil phenomenon in the doctor-patient relationship will come to an end.
During her speech before the doctors and nurses, Manastirliu said that with the health budget for 2022, the entire health system will be strengthened thanks to all the investments that are being made and those that will be made in the future.
“The 2022 budget guarantees the modernization of the health service infrastructure at all levels, starting from the primary care centers, to the university hospitals”, said Manastirliu.
In two terms, public funding for health has increased by 85%. The 2022 budget for health will be 63 billion and 515 million ALL, i.e. +7 billion more than the initial budget of 2021./r.e/p.s./
