TIRANA, Nov 16 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, referring to the accusations about the language used in the plenary session, said on Tuesday that “I feel obliged to step in now as this session is coming to an end due to the fact that this session probably the most important in the parliamentary year was not defined by budget debates, but is likely to be remembered for the inflammatory language used.”
In his remarks, Rama stressed that “since this degradation sparked after my speech, I feel obliged to explain to the public that literally what I said was as follows: Ask the one next to you because she can provide you with statistics although they are like a paper balloon. Everything that came after that reminds me of a sequence in the ” Il Postino” movie where the aunt complains to the village about the postman who had stirred the emotions of her niece with Neruda’s metaphors. Meanwhile, it is unimaginable how a metaphor turns into an accusation to incite a series of mudslinging, insults and even a scramble for fists thereafter, humiliating the entire parliament,” Rama said.
Rama went on saying: “I am impressed by how a poet like Flutura Açka was offended by a metaphor, as I would not be offended if I were in he shoes, on the contrary I would consider it part of communication.”
According to the Prime Minister, this is the problem with communication, with metaphors and accusations which they claim are based on facts.
