Banks provided about 15 billion lekë loan for business

TIRANA, November 3/ATA/ There is a sustainable growing trend of crediting of business.

The Central Bank said that the banking system provided 14.65 billion lekë loan for the business (in all the hard currencies) in September of the current year as compared with 14.1 billion lekë credit provided in August of the current year.

If compared with September last year, there is a slight increase while it happens to be the highest since September 2017.

At the end of September, business loans were dominated by foreign currency loans by 57%. However, compared to a year ago, this level is 1.8% lower, reflecting the shift of the portfolio towards the local currency, in response to favourable financial conditions, which were further eased with the onset of the pandemic.

Lending mainly supports the expansion of business investments in various sectors of the economy, but another part also goes to cover the liquidity needs of enterprises. /j.p/p.s./
