Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Albania to make concrete commitments

TIRANA, November 1/ATA/ Albania is attending the landmark climate change conference in Glasgow that will hold its proceedings from October 31 to November 12.

Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro stated that, “Glasgow conference can bring big changes to our lives so we are part with concrete commitments. The whims of the weather and the stubbornness of the scientific facts leave us in no doubt that climate change must be kept under control.”

“Developing countries like Albania tend to pollute less, and are not responsible for most of the emissions in the past, but still experience quite a bit of the worst effects of climate change. Albania has started active engagement with international partners and intensive communication to do its part in this great global effort”, underlined Kumbaro.

Kumbaro further on stated that the decisions taken at COP26 in Glasgow could lead to faster switching to electric cars, accelerating the energy from coal, reducing the cutting of trees and protecting more people from the impacts of climate change.

“Many of the commitments that will be taken in Glasgow will definitely affect our lives, so we are participating in this special and critical moment for the whole world at the same time”, said Kumbaro./k.s/j.p/p.s./
