TIRANA, Oct.27/ATA/ Another segment in the Great Ring of Tirana is opened for public traffic. As of today, the road segment starting from Farka Overpass to the New Maternity Hospital will be accessible to all drivers, thus facilitating movement in this area of the capital.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, accompanied by the director of ARA, Ergys Verdho inspected the works in the eastern part of the Great Ring Road, where the major work has been carried out due to the geology of the terrain as well as the large capacity of houses to be expropriated.
“Nobody believed that here in this plain area, a 240-meter-long road segment would be built, while the second and third lot of the Great Ring Road are ready to be connected,” Minister Balluku said while adding that, this road segment, despite being open for the circulation of vehicles, will be marked in yellow, as there are still works that need to be done. But since the main part is over, we have planned to open it for the circulation of vehicles under the supervision of the Traffic Police, in terms of road safety and speed.”
The work on the road segment at the entrance of Shkoza has already been completed and we hope that within 30 days the works in the remaining part will be completed as well, which includes the road segment from the Palace with Arrows to Shkoza. Meanwhile, the work on the segment from Eagle Square to the Palace of the Arrows is nearing completion,” Balluku said. //a.i/
