Western Balkans, Balluku upbeat about borderless region

TIRANA Oct 23 /ATA/ – By I.Vata/- Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, attended on Saturday the High Level Conference on Transport, which was held in Montenegro.

In her remarks, Balluku said that “cooperation with Montenegro is definitely another step forward in the regional cooperation built on facts and concrete projects which will improve transport throughout the Western Balkan region.”

“We talked today specifically about road safety, about the borders which must be processed jointly as it is never enough to have better infrastructure, we also should make sure that there are no lines on the border. “So the passage of citizens or goods should run smoothly throughout the Western Balkans,” she said.

Balluku added that “with representatives of the European Commission who were present at the table, we have managed to discuss pressing issues for all our countries or for the whole region. We have managed to address everything that needs to be resolved in the future and of course we have talked about all the important projects such as Corridor 8, or the connection of Albania via the Vora-Hani i Hotit railway with Montenegro, becoming part of the 8th corridor. ”
