Electricity, Basha: Crisis of corruption and mismanagement

TIRANA Oct 8 /ATA/ – By I.Vata/ The Democratic Party head, Lulzim Basha, stated on Friday that Prime Minister, Edi Rama, is putting pressure on the citizens over the price of energy.

According to Basha, this is not a crisis of energy, but of the govt. corruption.

In a press conference, Basha said that “his genuine goal was and is to create the psychological conditions and put pressure on people for what he plans to do in connection with the energy price hike.”

“He tried again to compare the situation with other countries, but there is no parallel between what is happening temporarily in Europe and the energy situation in Albania, now and 8 years ago. Even the megalomaniacal attempt to worry about them, ie the G7 countries, ie the richest countries in the world, to excuse what he plans to do with the price of energy here, in one of the poorest countries in the world and Europe, is a disgusting show of deception to misinform public opinion, that is, to lie to you, mothers and fathers, young and old people, your children and to give them the impression of an inevitable price hike. In fact it is not so. “This is not an energy crisis, this is a crisis of corruption and mismanagement,” he said.

Basha added that the balance sheets of energy operators show that in summer they sell at a low price the hydro energy and buy energy 3-4 times the price a few months later in corrupt tenders and at the expense of the citizens.
