KRANJ, Oct 6 /ATA/-ANSA/ – The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated at a press conference after the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Slovenia on Wednesday that the European Union won’t be complete without the Western Balkans.
“The European Commission’s message is that the Western Balkans are part of the same European Union,” EC President said in her remarks at press conference after the summit at the Brdo Congress Center in Kranj, Slovenia.
“We share same history, same values, as well as same destiny and I am convinced about that,” she stated.
“The economic investment plan is the core of our commitment to the region. The package is decisive for development and integration of regional markets into the European markets,” von Der Leyen added, underlining that she understands the frustration of the Western Balkans over the long delayed EU enlargement process.
