TIRANA, Oct 6 /ATA/ The first round table of the chairmen of the Albanian and Kosovo Parliamentary Committees was held on Wednesday in the venues of the Albanian Parliament.
Parliament Speaker, Lindita Nikolla, in her greeting speech, said “this round table lays the groundwork for the MPs of the Albanian nation to discuss how to better serve our compatriots and citizens, wherever they are. It is time to intensify, multiply contacts as well as expand the fraternal cooperation between our two parliaments. ”
Parliament Speaker, Lindita Nikolla, holding the opinion of Kosovo Parliament Speaker, Glauk Konjufca, reasserted the political support of both assemblies to continue the meetings and round tables as well as the pool the necessary financial resources.
The chairmen of the parliamentary committees of both assemblies discussed various perspectives of parliamentary cooperation, especially in the legislative process and approximation of legislation to facilitate cooperation between institutions, the private sector and citizens.
Discussions focused on cooperation for alignment of the legislation of both countries with the legislation of the European Union and implementation by the Parliament of Kosovo of the positive experiences of the Albanian Parliament, the approximation of legislation in the field of economy, public finance, investment, trade, security, defense, education, research, culture, media, health and social protection, cooperation with the diaspora, support for the manufacturing activities of private enterprise, public administration, agriculture and rural development, environment and sustainable development, infrastructure and transport, energy, local government etc.
The chairmen of the parliamentary committees agreed that, in addition to the meetings at the level of the Assemblies, the cooperation should continue and the discussions should be expanded and deepened in the meetings between the respective committees and their results should be presented and discussed at joint roundtables, which will be held on a periodic basis.
