TIRANA, September 10 /ATA/ Luljeta Bozo, the oldest MP in this legislature of the Assembly opened today the proceedings of the X legislature of the Assembly.
The session started with playing of the national anthem, while the SP MP Bozo delivered the keynote speech.
Bozo highlighted the need to advance the reforms undertaken by the previous legislature, while calling on MPs to work for all citizens equally, without making any political difference.
“I feel privileged that today I have the honor of opening the X legislature. I feel even more excited as a woman, because there have never been so many elected women before in this hall. This legislature will be remembered for breaking gender stereotypes and empowering the role of women in decision-making. We have taken on a great responsibility to lead Albania towards Europe. We are here thanks to the vote of the Albanian people “, said Bozo.
Bozo stressed the need to, “take further the initiatives taken by the previous Assembly.”
“We will succeed if we support and take into account the opinions of specialists. The USA, our strongest ally, the EU and the countries of the region support our reforms. The voters trusted us to advance justice, to resolve the property issue, to develop education, health, education. Today, it is our duty to work all the same without seeing the party colors. Let us successfully perform the work of the MP. I am convinced that we will have the support of every Albanian,” she said.
After the creation of the temporary secretariat with the 3 youngest MPs, Andia Ulliri (PD), Edona Bilali (SP), and Besian Ajazi (SP), Bozo announced the names of the elected persons to the Assembly and requested the verification of their mandates.
Then a temporary Commission for Verification of the Mandates of the members of the Assembly, consisting of 9 MPs will review the relevant election documentation and within 2 days will submit to the Assembly in plenary session the report on the validity of the mandates of the MPs of the Assembly.
The first plenary session continues in the afternoon after the verification of the mandates, with the new MPs taking their oath.
The constitution of the new legislature of the Assembly will pave the way for the approval of the new Government./m.m/j.p/p.s./
