Kim: SPAK will prosecute corruption and organized crime no matter how powerful or rich

TIRANA, Sept 8 /ATA/ The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, held on Wednesday a meeting with the head of SPAK, Arben Kraja.

Kim underlined the expectations of the US that SPAK will prosecute corruption and organized crime no matter how powerful or rich, no matter which party.

“With more prosecutors and new NBI investigators, SPAK is delivering more and more results each day. Since start of 2021, SPAK has opened 264 new cases (218 corruption and 46 organized crime). 127 persons have been convicted,” Kim said.

The ambassador added that final court rulings confirmed confiscation of more than €70 million that has now been transferred to the Albanian state. /m.m/sm/
