TIRANA, Sept 7 /ATA/ The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, met on Tuesday with Minister of Justice, Etilda Gjonaj.
Ambassador Kim says in a posting that she has thanked her as she completes an extraordinary tenure as Minister of Justice.
“I met Minister of Justice Etilda Gjonaj to thank her as she completes her extraordinary tenure as Minister of Justice – the longest-serving person and the first woman in this key position. We note in particular her leadership on justice reform, which – with her contribution – is beginning to show results,’ Kim says.
The ambassador adds that the US will continue to strongly support implementation of justice reform in Albania.
“The US will continue to strongly support implementation of justice reform in Albania. We hope all leaders and justice institutions will keep moving forward to deliver more results that serve the people of Albania, meet the European Union standards and bring Albania closer to the United States,” Kim says.
