TIRANA, Sept 6 /ATA/- The new antiCOVID-19 rules to enter Albania take effect as of Monday.
According to the decision of the Technical Committee of Experts, starting from today, September 6, citizens who enter the Republic of Albania via all border crossings must meet one of these three conditions:
1. To have the vaccination passport, where the date of full vaccination is at least two weeks prior.
2. To have a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours or a rapid antigen test within 48 hours.
3. To have proof of having recovered from Sars-Cov2 infection, valid until 6 months from recovery.
These rules also apply to those citizens who transit through Albania.
Children up to 6 years old are not subject to these rules.
Albanian citizens residing in Albania, who return and do not have one of the above documents, must self-isolate for 10 days and inform the health authority to take a test at the end of the isolation period.
The Committee of Vaccination Experts as part of civic responsibility for the protection of public health has decided to make vaccination mandatory for groups most at risk for catching and especially for transmitting infection, starting with medical staff, teachers and students.
