TIRANA, Aug 23 /ATA/ The Director of Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, Frida Krifca, was on Tuesday in Kulla e Durrësit, where she visited the vineyards and winery run by a farmer who has benefited subsidy from ARDA.
“This time the year before last, Oltion would be looking to rent a tractor and aggregates to do the work in his vineyards,” said Krifca, adding that, “the costs were 50% higher than today when all processes of his work are carried out with his machinery obtained with the support of ARDA. ”
“The new technology has been in use for a year now and he tells us that he has seen his business take off,” she said.
But what impact has this support delivered to him?
Oltion has expanded his vineyards by over 1,5 ha and produces about 300 quintals of grapes per year.
He takes the grapes to the winery and is motivated to build his place for winemaking process. “With the support of ARDA, not only do we improve the processes, but also promote development of agriculture and agribusiness,” said Krifca.
