TIRANA, Aug 19/ATA/ Farmers are expanding production opportunities in agriculture by increasing family incomes and setting up competitive businesses.
The Albania’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Milva Ekonomi shared today on the social media images from the new Dried Fruits And Vegetables Business that is becoming a trend in rural areas.
“An inspiring example, coming from the village of Luzi i Vogël in Kavaja, that shows the possibility of increasing income in the production of the sun-dried tomatoes in this area,” Minister Ekonomi said.
“Albania Piemonte” company has engaged dozens of farmers and employed the local community,” Minister Ekonomi said.
The company has increased the production to 30 tons with a planted area of 20 ha, compared to 8 tons in the first year of its establishment.
“The foreign markets demand for sun-dried tomato has increased, mainly the Italian one will provide the opportunity to further increase the planted area and the production,” Minister Ekonomi added. //a.i/
