TIRANA, Aug 17/ATA/ The Brati Bridge over the Shushica River in Vlora is an important and valuable monument for cultural heritage, which is worth visiting at any time.
Built in the 16th century, thanks to the quality of the work and the architecture with two arches and windows, which enable the discharge of water when the river swells, the Brati bridge is considered to be one of the best engineering works of the period.
9 m high and 30 m long, the Brati bridge affords a dominant view over the rocks and crystal clear water of Shushica.
Designated a cultural monument of the first category in 1948, the Brati bridge is still functional today, connecting the old road of the Karavaneve with that of Rrëza, respectively the village of Brataj with the other side of the plain of Brati and Smokthina.
Brat Bridge also appears in the movie “The Second November.”
