TIRANA, August 10/ATA/ -“During the upcoming school year, all students from grades 1-9 will have free textbooks, in line with the commitment taken”, said today Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Rama emphasized that, “Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of this support scheme from the Albanian government are all students of special categories in secondary education”.
Education Minister Evis Kushi reacted today on fulfillment of the commitment for free textbooks.
Kushi underlined that during this school year in the support scheme of the Albanian government will be added the students of 8th and 9th grades.
“This school year, in basic education all students from grades 1-9 will have free textbooks. Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of this support scheme from the Albanian government are all students of special categories in secondary education, too”, said Kushi.
There are about 280 thousand students benefiting in total from this support scheme, of which in the meantime there are 16 thousand students in secondary education who will benefit as part of special categories. Students will be provided with quality books from “Oxford”, “Cambridge” and “Pearson”, while this policy will ease the financial burden of Albanian families./p.s./
