Tirana hosts “Summer Stew” feast

TIRANA, July 18 /ATA/ For the fourth year in a row, the “Ferges” Feast otherwise known as the summer stew feast has been organized in the premises of Tirana Castle, bringing together artisans and traditional restaurants.

The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj said that the Castle of Tirana has developed into an ecosystem that combines art and culinary delights, preserving the Albanian tradition and attracting plenty of local and foreign tourists.

Veliaj informed that the Tirana Castle will be expanded with another space.

“The walls of the Castle have been preserved on both sides, it is full of life, business and tourists. A city carries value when it is full of life not when it is rife with mold and evokes only nostalgia. We have revitalized this space, so I am glad that the government has just approved the decision to expand it, giving another space to the Castle, the house of the Libohoviteve and the house of Sarajeve to make sure that Tirana’s heritage is enjoyed as much as possible by the people,” Veliaj said.

Supporting small businesses and artisans through fairs and events is one of the priorities of the Municipality of Tirana, giving a boost to the local economy, but also preserving and promoting the identity of the capital and its recognition by foreign visitors. /a.a/sm/
